The Bitter Heart!
Happy Valentines! Want to impress your Valentine this Friday? Stop by Wolverine Market before the big day and buy a bottle of Champagne or sparkling wine to go along with the chocolate and kisses. Wolverine has a wide variety to choose from in a price range you can afford.
Do you want to throw even more romance in? Make a classic Mimosa with St. Germain liqueur, dry red wine and top it off with your favorite dry bubbly. Delicious!
If the bubbly isn’t your thing, perhaps try this fun cocktail known as the Bitter Heart. Cupid might know the way to your heart, but he’s got crummy taste in adult beverages. Valentine’s Day drinks tend to be sweet and sticky, more candy than cocktail. Not so with this simple, pinkish spin on a Gimlet, made with hibiscus gin and California amaro to give it a light, herbal bitterness. Finally, a Valentine’s Day cocktail worth loving!

*How to make Hibiscus-infused gin: In a large container, combine 1 750 mL bottle of gin with 1/4 cup dried hibiscus flowers and let sit for 8 hours. Strain back into bottle.
What is a Coupe Glass you may ask? Also known as the Champagne Coupe or the Champagne saucer, the coupe is a stemmed glass featuring a broad, shallow bowl. As you may have guessed, this glass was originally developed for champagne, however changing tastes have replaced it with the fluted glass as the go-to glass for champagne drinkers. However the coupe glass works really well for this cocktail!
We hope you have a really great Valentines Day!
